Beurenhof
Beurenhof
The Beurenhof is one of the many town houses worth seeing on Mühlhäuser Untermarkt. The building impresses with its loving renovation, attractive decoration and well-kept appearance.
to the story:
The town courtyard of the Eichsfeld monastery of Beuren, the "Bürenhof", was first mentioned in 1251. The building in its current formal form was most probably rebuilt in 1550. After the dissolution of the monastery, the Beurenhof returned to private ownership in 1810. Due to its large gateway, it was used for theater performances at the beginning of the 19th century, which could be attended by up to 120 people. At the end of the 19th century, the building was used as a wine wholesaler, stocking factory and home to the development department of the tube factory. After extensive refurbishment from 2008, the building now houses a retirement home.
