Bodebrunnen Weimar
Bodebrunnen Weimar
The historic ornamental fountain is located on a triangular-shaped square between Brühl and Wagnergasse. The sandstone fountain bowl was erected on a circular travertine base during the reign of Maria Pavlovna. The fountain is adorned with a lion's head as a gargoyle. The fountain was named after the writer Wilhelm Bode (1862-1922), who lived in Wagnergasse and who thematized Goethe in his works. The authorship is unclear, but the stonemasons Adam Gleim and Carl Dornberger are under consideration.
