Brennersgrün is the youngest and, at 715 meters, also the highest village in the town of Lehesten. Nestled in a beautiful forest idyll, the Rennsteig trail leads directly through the village.

Brennersgrün is therefore an ideal starting point for Rennsteig hikes. You can easily park and start your hike. The ascent to the Wetzstein (792 meters high) with the Altvaterturm tower can also begin here and is one of the most popular hiking routes. From the Altvaterturm you have a wonderful view of the surrounding area.

The "Rennsteig - Höhenradweg" also runs through the middle of the village.
