Not far from St. Mary's Church is the Obermarkt with two representative buildings. The massive baroque structure of the Brotlaube closes off the Obermarkt to the west. The building was erected between 1714 and 1723 over a five-bay vaulted cellar from the first half of the 14th century, on the site of the old upper arbor, and took its name from the bakers' stalls.
