Bodenstein Castle, first mentioned in a document in 1098, sits enthroned on a promontory in the Ohm Mountains. The romantic castle complex is now a family education and recreation center of the Protestant Church.

The half-timbered castle offers various events such as concerts, cabaret and panel discussions. Wedding couples have discovered the castle as a beautiful photo motif and also for celebrating.

Guided tours are offered regularly, where you can immerse yourself in the history of the former lords of the castle, the von Wintzingerode family. It is also possible to visit the small chapel with its baptismal angel. Bodenstein Castle can be reached by car via Kirchohmfeld.
