Today, the castle complex is only partially preserved. Formative remains are the impressive 37 meter high sightseeing tower "Bergfried" and the remains of the enclosing wall of the former castle complex from the 12th century. When visiting the tower, you will be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view. The view reaches as far as the Thuringian Forest.

In the building there is a small exhibition, which gives an exciting overview of the history and legends of the city. The former music hall hosts exhibitions and art and cultural events.
The cozy castle courtyard invites you to parties and events, especially in summer.
