The ruins of Botenlauben Castle are enthroned high above the town and offer you a fantastic 360° view over Bad Kissingen - well worth the climb! The town's oldest landmark dates back to the late 12th century. Climb the few steps up to the two preserved castle towers, because from here you have the best view of the castle ruins' foundation walls. Every two years, the Botenlauben Festival breathes new life into the castle ruins with "Minnesang und Schwerterklang". The atmospheric medieval festival makes the hearts of castle fans beat faster and invites you to a minstrel competition, sword fights and, of course, "food and drink".
