Clauder Mill Denstedt
Clauder Mill Denstedt
„Good luck!“ is how millers used to greet each other. They especially needed luck for their mill, which brought them money and prosperity, but also the odd cause for concern. Because the millstone did not always turn. Neither too much nor too little water was allowed to flow over the mill wheel. The mill was also forced to stand still when there was ice in winter and then there was the time factor. This constantly gnawed away at the old mill and over the years and centuries turned it into a constant object of modernization.
The Clauder family, who are now the third generation to run the mill, which is over a thousand years old, can tell you a thing or two about this. Dr. Rudolf Clauder, the grandfather of the current owner, acquired the business in 1935. Since then, the mill has completely changed its appearance. In line with the requirements of the times, the business has been constantly brought up to date with the latest technology. However, without blindly replacing the old with the new. As a result, there are some machines from the beginning of the last century alongside the latest ones. The selection of products also shows tradition and modernity. Clauder Mühle stocks all types of flour, baking meal and semolina made from rye, wheat and spelt, as well as various feedstuffs. It also offers selected mill products such as pasta, muesli, flakes, tea, mustard, mustard oil and much more...
Home-baked cakes, coffee, ice cream and cool drinks are available in the mill café.
