The garden, located between Luisenpark, Steigerwald and egapark, was created from 1959-1961 for study purposes. In a resolution passed by the city of Erfurt in 1959, it was decided that the Rosaceae plant family should be represented in the garden. This can still be admired today. Flowering cherries are also native to the park. With reconstructed seating terraces, the garden monument offers many opportunities to relax and linger. The botanical-dendrological garden is located to the south below the egapark and can be easily reached by streetcar line 6 - final stop Steigerstraße - or streetcar lines 2 and 4 - stop Gothaer Platz.
