The Leipzig-Halle-Dessau city triangle stands for an East German growth region that can point to future-proof forecasts thanks to its diverse and stable potential and its favorable location.

Dessau-Roßlau (the two cities merged on July 1, 2007 as part of the regional reform in Saxony-Anhalt) has a long tradition of innovative developments. Since the 18th century, Dessau, the former residence of the state of Anhalt, has been the source of far-reaching reforms and developmental impulses that have had an impact far beyond the region. 

One of the centers of the German Enlightenment with its social, economic and educational projects was located here in the 18th century. We owe the harmonious world of the parks, palaces and gardens of the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom in the wide floodplain landscape of the Elbe and Mulde rivers to this. Hugo Junkers designed and manufactured his airplanes in Dessau and revolutionized the development of aviation.
