Unique in Germany: A permanent exhibition on the biology and cultural history of bees and beekeeping also includes an important collection of folk-art beehives, so-called figure hives. There are around 1,500 exhibits on display, including documents, pictures and memorabilia, beekeeping equipment and bee products. A walk across the museum courtyard to the bee pasture garden is also worthwhile. Here you can admire, among other things, various animated display hives, historical hives, a traveling carriage and an apiary. An adjoining room on the farm is home to the only surviving wax hammer dating back to 1637. Founded by Ferdinand Gerstung in 1907, Germany's oldest bee museum offers interesting attractions for adults and children alike. The farm store, café with beer garden, markets and events round off the offer.
