Village church of St. Martin Görmar
Village church of St. Martin Görmar
The village church of St. Martin is located in the Mühlhausen district of Görmar, on the outskirts of the village. The village was first mentioned in documents as early as 897. The interior of the church is a sight to behold, both inside and out. The church still has the beginnings of an old Romanesque central church design. Later conversions were Gothic and Baroque and changed the appearance. The yellow half-timbered tower is striking.
The church is Protestant and is run by the Mühlhausen church district. Church services are held here regularly. The church is located on the Loccum-Volkenroda pilgrimage route.
