Drackendorf Park (Goethepark)
Drackendorf Park (Goethepark)
An idyllic park in Jena that invites you to linger and relax. The approximately 3-hectare park in Jena-Drackendorf was laid out as an English landscape garden in the second half of the 19th century. Two huge oak trees, a copper beech and a tea house built on the grounds are particularly striking features of Goethe Park. The park was commissioned by Baron von Ziegesar, whose daughter was friends with Goethe. The plans for such a park are said to have come from Goethe himself.
