Dröbischau
Dröbischau is a district of the town of Königsee in the district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt. Dröbischau is located on an unforested plateau in the northern foothills of the Thuringian Forest between the Rinnetal valley in the north and the Schwarzatal valley in the south at an altitude of around 600 meters above sea level. To the west of the village is the 808-metre-high Lange Berg and to the east is the 665-metre-high Barigauer Höhe. Dröbischau was first mentioned in 1292 as Threbescowe, Egelsdorf in 1316 as Egilsdorf. The villages belonged to the possessions of the Counts of Schwarzburg. The carter's trade and weaving were historically important in the village, and later also the olive and glassware trade. Until 1918, the village belonged to the overlordship of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Egelsdorf was incorporated. From the mid-1950s, Dröbischau and Egelsdorf became vacation and recreation resorts.
On January 1, 2019, Dröbischau was incorporated into the neighboring town of Königsee.
