The Dux Bridge, designed by Clemens Wenzeslaus Coudray, is located in the line of sight between Goethe's Garden House and the Roman House, just behind a bend in the course of the Ilm. It is bordered by a green-painted iron lattice, the crossing is made of wood. There are numerous exotic plants near the bridge, including two rare tulip trees. Until 1993, there was a wooden replacement bridge here. Another predecessor was located 300 meters downstream, probably in the line of sight between the Borkenhäuschen and the church of St. Peter and Paul in Oberweimar.
