The mill on the Popperöder stream is mentioned as early as 1290 as the Popperöder mill. It was given the name Schneidemühle after being rebuilt in 1546. A fulling mill was added in 1786 and later an oil mill. In 1821, these two mill systems were driven by two overhead grinding gears. In 1880, the mill was operated as a spinning mill and demolished in 1896. Today it is home to the Swan Pond cultural site.
