Finstergrund railroad bridge

Finstergrund viaduct on the (Sonneberg-) Lauscha - Ernstthal - Probstzella line.
Due to extremely low traffic demand - goodbye route ... (1994)

On the disused Lichte (Piesau)-Ernstthal railroad line in the middle of the forest lies the imposing Finstergrund Viaduct, built in 1911-1913 from unreinforced tamped concrete. The viaduct is 197 meters long and up to 25.5 meters high. From time to time there is still trolley traffic with tourists on the route. Apart from that, it is accessible on foot and makes an impressive impression both with its view and from the ground.
