The Elisabeth Chapel is an early testimony to the veneration of Elisabeth in Erfurt and is located in the Nikolaiturm in Augustinerstraße, in the immediate vicinity of the Lutheran Augustinian monastery in Erfurt. The secco paintings of the Elizabeth cycle date back to the construction period of the tower in the 14th century and are therefore the oldest paintings in Thuringia and from the life of the Thuringian landgravine.
