The Wildlife Park Affenwald and the Speedride summer toboggan run on the Straußberg near Sondershausen is an excursion destination for the whole family. On a wooded slope, playful Barbary macaques, agile ring-tailed lemurs, black and white varis and Bennett's kangaroos frolic in the four-hectare open-air enclosure. Visitors can experience extraordinary encounters with completely atypical inhabitants of our native forests - without any fences. A special highlight is watching the animals with their offspring. Guests can go on their own little safari in the monkey forest, where the sometimes quite cheeky monkeys can move around freely.

If you feel like it, you can then whizz down the mountain on the summer toboggan run - a descent 760 meters long, with 5 steep bends and 44 meters difference in altitude. Everyone can decide for themselves how fast they want to go with the brakes. The season at Straußberg Adventure Park runs from April 1 to October 31.
