Small and big lake adventures in the adventure region "Reservoir Hohenfelden

The 40-hectare reservoir offers plenty of adventure for a day-long program. If you like, you can first shimmy through the climbing forest, in the morning it is still nice and cool under the leafy canopy of the trees. From far away you can spot the prey on the 3D archery course or get a first overview on the adventure golf course opposite. Meanwhile, younger siblings cuddle up with grandma and grandpa in the petting enclosure. For plenty of cooling down afterwards, the only thing to do is jump into the cool water. Either directly from the mega slide of the new Aqua Fun Park or from a boat during a leisurely paddle across the reservoir.

For even more adventure, simply extend your stay. At the Hohenfelden campsite, there's sure to be a shady spot in a tent, caravan or in one of the vacation homes by the lake. There is also enough time for sliding in the Avenida-Therme on the other side of the lake. During the summer vacations there's a special price and a delicious ice cream on top.

Old stones and a breath of fresh air in Weimarer Land

If webbed toes are already forming, we recommend great excursions around the lake, which are also easily accessible by bike. A visit to the Thuringian Open Air Museum Hohenfelden is definitely worth it. In the historic houses with the old stones, it can be endured. They come from different times and regions of Thuringia and are authentically furnished. On Sundays and during the vacations there are always special events about life back then and in between you can treat yourself to a homemade lemonade and freshly baked waffles in the lemonade pavilion on the "village square".

You can also get a breath of fresh air from the flapping wings of the great birds of prey during a flight demonstration at the eagle and falcon farm in nearby Kranichfeld. And for those who prefer four-legged companions, the hair will fly around your ears on a fast ride into the countryside or on a tractor ride around the Riechheimer Berg.

When the sun sets on the "Hohenfelden Reservoir", the fattest fish bite

You can experience one of the most beautiful sunsets at the Hohenfelden reservoir, at the beach chair concert at "Hans am See". While the sun slowly disappears into the glittering water and everything is bathed in a pink-red light, you can make yourself comfortable in a beach chair and listen to the music on the floating stage through headphones. Or you enjoy a fruity cocktail on the jetty at the end of the day and let your feet dangle in the water. Maybe you watch the fishermen? Of course, their dinner will be served freshly caught.
