Protestant village church Kirchremda

The church is said to have given the village its name, which was first mentioned in a document in 750-770.
The imposing church building was first mentioned in 1756; the carved altar pieces date back to the 15th and 16th centuries. This means that there must have been a predecessor building. The village was the ecclesiastical base of the Remda villages until the town of Remda took over this role when it was granted town and market rights.
The tower basement of the choir tower church dates back to Romanesque times. The tower was raised in 1756 and the nave was added. The pulpit altar was assembled in 1713 from two late medieval altar retables from the 16th century.
