Half-timbered house at Jakobistraße 8
Half-timbered house at Jakobistraße 8
The house, which is well worth seeing, is located in a residential area in the old town of Mühlhausen that is not heavily frequented. In the immediate vicinity are prefabricated buildings from the GDR era, but also lovingly renovated town houses and the Mühlhausen Jakobikirche church.
to the story:
The house was built in 1571 and is regarded in Mühlhausen as a modest offshoot of the Lower Saxon half-timbered style of the 16th century. The Lower Saxon decorative forms on the upper floor, such as sun wheels, magic knots and tracery rosettes, are striking. The house also features a toothed section and a round deaf bar as half-timbering.
