The small village of Fambach is idyllically situated between Meiningen and Bad Salzungen in the upper Werra Valley. Vanebach" was mentioned in documents as early as 1183 as the site of a once proud fortress, which was inhabited until the 19th century.

Numerous events take place in Fambach every year. On the first of May, the municipality celebrates the fire department festival. The second weekend in July is dedicated to the big tent festival, which has been taking place since 2014 and has already brought many well-known artists to the region. There is also the Fambach Run and a pumpkin festival in the fall.
