As part of the „Hohe Schrecke - Old Forest with a Future“ project, our village of Gehofen is one of the ideal starting points for exploring and experiencing the approx. 7,000-hectare forest area.

By installing a modern solid fuel heating system in our farmhouse, which was built in 1832, we have created a sustainable interaction between the forest and our farm. As a renewable raw material, wood is the energy source that brings natural warmth into our home.

On the top floor, we have lovingly created a guest room (approx. 30 m2) in a rustic style, with an additional sitting area. In addition to the possibility to relax in peace, a flat screen TV is also part of the equipment. With 2 beds in a double bed, it offers enough space for two adults. Another person could also be accommodated in the room on a sofa bed.

A spacious shower bathroom (approx. 7m2) has also been newly created.

A modern eat-in kitchen is available for shared use on the first floor.

The ideal vacation on the farm ensures you make friends with our chickens, pigs, cattle and other poultry. Get your own breakfast egg from the nest in the morning. Set off on extensive hikes in the „Hohe Schrecke“, explore our orchards and the old forest. The nearby Unstrut river offers the opportunity to take a canoe trip. If you bring your own bike, you can increase the radius to be explored close to nature.
