People have been swimming at "Am neuen Teich" in Buttstädt for over 100 years. Created as a private swimming pond, the facility has officially been Buttstädt's outdoor pool since 1927. Spacious sunbathing areas, a 25 m wide main pool divided into swimmers' and non-swimmers' areas, varied play facilities and a centrally located children's pool make the "Zum neuen Teich" outdoor pool unique. A water slide will be added to the bathing fun next year.

A development association supports the operator and the community in the further development of the domicile on the outskirts of the city. In addition to everyday bathing, regular events are organized for young and old.
