The Strutt campsite has been located in the municipality of Poppenhausen above the village of Tränkhof since the 1960s. It is idyllically situated in the forest and was completely renovated in 2020. The functional building, sanitary facilities and outdoor area were brought up to date.

The room concept of the function house includes a recreation room (with tables and chairs), a sanitary wing with functional washing facilities (including a shower), changing rooms and toilets, as well as a technical room. A field kitchen and a firewood store are located under the canopy on the gable end.
To supply the building with electricity and water, there is a photovoltaic system on the roof as well as storage technology from instantaneous water heaters. Previously, there was no power supply at the campsite and only cold running water.
