Friedenskirche Bad Liebenstein
Friedenskirche Bad Liebenstein
There has been a church in Bad Liebenstein since the 17th century. The church in the small village of Grumbach was consecrated on September 21, 1684. This place can be found today next to the historic post office.
The church at that time was intended for the villages of Suerborn (Sauerbrunnen) and Grumbach. There were two reasons for building a new church: The dilapidation of this small village church and the development of the former two villages into a health resort following the repurchase of the Liebenstein estate by Duke Georg I of Saxe-Meiningen. The church is built in a semicircle. With its light colors and natural wooden seating, the church offers a friendly and warm atmosphere. The church is open all year round.
