The location alone is worth the trip! The tower, which is the oldest mountain restaurant in Jena, towers high above the Saale. The Fuchsturm is the remains of a group of castles from the Middle Ages, visible from afar. The tower was first made accessible in 1784. Today, it is a popular vantage point and, with the Fuchsturmgaststätte, the destination of many day-trippers. From the beer garden, you have a fantastic view over Jena and the Saale valley. Cultural events are also held here throughout the year. The Fuchsturm is one of the Seven Wonders of Jena.
