The municipality of Unstruttal is located in the northern part of the Thuringian Basin, belongs to the Unstrut-Hainich district and is made up of the districts of Ammern, Dachrieden, Dörna, Eigenrode, Horsmar, Kaisershagen, Kleinkeula, Lengefeld, Menteroda, Reiser, Sollstedt, Urbach and Zaunröden.
