The Schönau a. d. Brend community center was built in the 1950s and forms the heart of the village of Schönau a. d. Brend. The Schönau coat of arms with the Rhön wheel as a landmark is the eye-catcher on the gable. Next to it, the figure of the farmer's wife holds sheaves in her hand.

Inside you will find the office of the first mayor Sonja Rahm, the bakery, the library, the GP's treatment room, the hot mangle, the office of the forester Michael Heinrich and a slaughterhouse in the outbuilding. The municipal council meets in the meeting room on the third Tuesday of the month.
