On the northern edge of the Thuringian Forest, in the valley of the tame Gera, surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges, lies the village of Geraberg. The favorable location of the village offers tourists the opportunities for extensive hikes through the Gera valley and to the nearby Rennsteig.

Today Geraberg is a district of the rural community Geratal.
