Germershausen is a municipality in the district of Göttingen in southern Lower Saxony and belongs to the cultural landscape of Lowereichsfeld and lies in the so-called Golden mark, a gently undulating basin landscape with fertile lowlands.

Germershausen has been a well-known place of pilgrimage in the Eichsfeld region for well over 300 years. The destination of the pilgrimages in the village is the Church of the Annunciation and the Image of the Virgin Mary in the Meadow. The 72 cm high wooden image of grace is located in a side aisle and depicts the enthroned Mother of God with Child. Mary holds the scepter in her right hand and the infant Jesus in her left arm. The figure can be dated to the middle of the 15th century. The pilgrimages take place "on the meadow", the park around the sanctuary, at a free altar.
