Görmar is a district of the town of Mühlhausen. The district is located in the Thuringian basin not far from the Unstrut river in an agricultural farming area. Görmar was first mentioned in 897, even before Mühlhausen was mentioned. Görmar was an independent municipality until 1994 and has been part of Mühlhausen since June 1994.

The church of St. Martin is well worth a visit. Local life is characterized by an active club life, from the carnival to the fire department. Görmar's most famous personality is the composer Johann Lorenz Albrecht (born 08.01.1732)

Görmar is located on the Unstrut cycle path and can be explored on stage 2 from Mühlhausen to Bad Langensalza.
