Gösen is a community in the thuringia Saale-Holzland district. Fulfilling community is the county seat Eisenberg.

Gösen was first mentioned in a document in 1266. The often mentioned mention of 1219 is a clerical error of later transcribers and refers to the deserted village of Tear at Eckolstädt. In the immediate vicinity of Gösen are Barrows in the Dorstewitz parcel at Hainchen and Nautschütz. Also on the neighboring hills Beuche and Rose Grove were flint tools and tees from the Middle Stone Age were found. These are evidence of the settlement of the surroundings of Gösen in former times.
