Großbartloff belongs to the administrative community of Westerwald-Obereichsfeld. The village was first mentioned in 1306 and its sights include the baroque village church built around 1745, the village center with many preserved half-timbered houses in Franconian architectural style, the natural monument "waterfall" 10m deep, stone courtyard gates from around 1520 and the extensive network of hiking trails.
