At 916 meters above sea level, the Großer Inselsberg is the The highest elevation in the western Thuringian Forest, visible from afar. From the 21 meter high observation tower visitors can enjoy a 360° panoramic view. A section of the original transmission technology of the former telecommunications tower is on display on the lower floors. A three-meter-high bouldering wall is available for beginners and children.
