Großpürschütz
Großpürschütz
The municipality Großpürschütz with its district Kleinpürschütz is located 15 kilometers south of Jena in the protected landscape area "Middle Saale Valley". It is surrounded by extensive wooded areas where you can take beautiful walks away from the traffic noise.
Traditional festivals and celebrations are e.g. the annual maypole setting, the village and children's festival in Großpürschütz, the harvest festival in Kleinpürschütz as well as the field procession on October 3. A true gem of the village community is the "Bauernstube" in Kleinpürschütz. The village community center was built between 1987 and 1989 on the village's own initiative and is available to residents and also guests from other communities for events and family celebrations.
The tranquil community on the Saale is equally well suited as a starting point for exploring the surrounding area. Not far away is the "Queen of the Saale Valley", the Leuchtenburg, visible from afar, with its exhibition Porzellanwelten Leuchtenburg. The exhibition stretches with it the bow to the likewise nearby, worth seeing porcelain city Kahla. The ducal sights of Rieseneck hunting lodge and the unusual Herzogstuhl castle are also popular photo motifs and can be hiked from the community.
