The municipality of Hallungen, located in the valley of the Lämpertsbach, directly on the Hainich, refers to the "settlement on the hillside". There are documented mentions from 1345 as "Haldungin" and 1359 as "Haldungen". The village itself has many listed houses. At the end of the village you will find the forest bath and thus offers every vacationer a lot of rest, recreation and relaxation. Several hiking trails lead around the idyllic village. Hikes into the Werratal, as well as over the Waldbad to the Rennsteig, which is signposted as the main hiking trail to the national park, become a nature experience for everyone.
