In the center of the Otto Dix city of Gera is the largest event hall in eastern Thuringia, the Haus der Kultur (HdK). Sandstone, bronze-colored aluminum and glass dominate the exterior appearance and give the building its unmistakable style. The building has a large hall, spacious foyers, several conference rooms, an efficient in-house restaurant and is managed by a professional team. There is a parking garage right next to the HdK and Gera's main train station is in the immediate vicinity. Gera's central location in Germany, its proximity to the main A4 and A9 highway routes to the south, its own airport, modern infrastructure, effective local transport - both to the train station and to all major hotels and, last but not least, the famous Thuringian cuisine all speak for Gera as an event location.
