Museum of local history Behringen
Museum of local history Behringen
Since 2001, the former inspector's house has been home to the Behringen Heimatstube. The listed building, which was restored in 2000, is part of the castle ensemble in the former center of Großenbehringen. The Martin Luther Church, the old meadow and the adjoining castle garden with sculpture park are also part of the historic village center. According to the inscription on the Renaissance bay window of the castle, the von Wangenheim family began building the manor house on the Sunday after Palmarum in 1547. Today there is a barrier-free hotel here.
The exhibition and collection work in the local history museum focuses on the historical development of the Behrings villages, rural employment and customs.
The Behringen local history museum is open every first Sunday of the month from 1 to 4 pm.
