In cooperation with the municipality and the Kultur- und Heimatverein Berka vor dem Hainich e. V., a museum of local history and a club room have been created in the former gymnasium building.

In the museum of local history, various rooms have been furnished in the style of our ancestors with loans from local residents. In addition, tools of the trade have been collected and exhibited.

Original clothing and traditional costumes from the region enrich the collection. On important holidays, such as the 975th anniversary of the village, the old costumes were worn in public by members of the association.

A large collection of photos from the past is kept and displayed in changing exhibitions.

The museum and the exhibitions are not open all the time. Opening hours are announced in the village or in the "Werratal-Boten".

Of course, it is possible to arrange visiting times for interested citizens and guests in consultation with the chairwoman of the association, Ms. Heidi Hübschmann.
