Hirschbach
Hirschbach
Hirschbach is the youngest community in the group of villages. The feudal charter of Wilhelm IV Count and Lord of Henneberg from 1547 is the first documented mention of a hammer settlement on the Erle, where the rock of the Wetterberg was processed. By the end of 1700 Hirschbach had developed into a respectable village with grinding and cutting mills, schooling and its own church. Together with Altendambach it formed a parish.
The citizens' office of the municipality of St. Kilian is located in Hirschbach. Hirschbach is a modern residential area with about 450 inhabitants, has an attractive new residential area and is a business location with the business park "Friedberg".
The village has a convenient location on the L3247 and is also easy to reach via the A 73. Hirschbach was a "state-recognized resort" until March 2015. Guest beds in hotels, vacation homes and private rooms invite you to stay. Attractive excursion destinations such as the local mountain "Adlersberg" with observation tower, the "Stutenhaus" and much more await your visit.
