Deer garden
The Hirschgarten was created in connection with the construction of today's State Chancellery in the 18th century. It quickly developed into the city's first public green space, which was open to "decently dressed citizens" once a week. Over the years, the Hirschgarten underwent many changes, for example the planting of botanical rarities and the erection of several monuments.
In the 1990s, the area was no longer maintained due to planned construction work until 2009, when it was reopened as a park area with a spacious playground after many years of planning and design.
The Hirschgarten can be reached by streetcar line 4 in the direction of Bindersleben, Angerbrunnen stop. There is ample parking in the centrally located Forum 1 parking garage, from where you can reach the Hirschgarten in just 5 minutes on foot.
