The historic post office is one of the most magnificent half-timbered buildings in the Franconian-Henneberg style in southern Thuringia. The lavish half-timbered decoration with the x-shaped crosses (St. Andrew's crosses) is characteristic. It was immortalized on a stamp in 1982, a miniature version of it can be found in the mini-a-thür Park in Ruhla and it is available as a kit for model railroads.
