Historic residential building "Knabe"
Historic residential building "Knabe"
The half-timbered house was built by the municipality as a sub-inn after the great fire of 1711, presumably on the remains of previous buildings. It first appears in municipal accounts in 1723 as a leased property. Alongside the Oberwirtshaus, it was the only inn with a hostelry in the village. After the sale of the "Zum roten Ochsen" inn to Johannes Weinaug in 1834, it remained in the possession of this innkeeper family for 34 years and at times had a large wooden staircase at the front. Since its sale in 1868, it has served as a residential building, in which a store was opened for the first time in 1926.
