The Hofwiesenpark is the largest park in the Otto Dix city of Gera and offers wide green spaces, an interesting terrain profile and many leisure opportunities. It is located in the middle of the Untermhaus cultural area in the immediate vicinity of the city center. The enchanting idyll of this green oasis by the river is an attraction for Gera residents and guests from near and far at any time of year. Covering 30 hectares, the Hofwiesenpark offers large meadows, shady trees and a seasonally changing splendor of flowers as well as varied and exciting cultural, play and sports activities. Throughout the park, islands of activity are embedded in ovals of hedges. These include the event oval in the south of the site, with the Hofwiesenpark stage and the partnership gardens, as well as the play oval with the adventurous giant bird world at the northern entrance.
