High ditch

The Hohe Graben was the eastern bank of the former Itschenteiche ponds, which were located in front of the western gates of the city wall. Today, visitors walk along its crest as an extension of the Hirschgraben rampart from Blobach to Lentzeplatz and on towards Lindenbühl.

In addition to breathtaking views of the churches of St. Marien and St. Jakobi, the Hohe Graben with its historic lanterns and wrought-iron railings has a French feel. Coming from Lentzeplatz, a 24m high Dutch elm tree welcomes guests and invites them to enjoy over 12,000m² of green bathing.
