The Roman Catholic Ignatius Chapel is located in the municipality of Wingerode in the Eichsfeld district. It was built in 1657 in honor of the founder of the order. It was extended in 1661 and rebuilt in 1715 due to a lack of space. Inside there are sculptures of St. Ignatius, St. Francis Xavier and St. Salvator from 1735, a Gothic Madonna and a picture of the Fourteen Saints. Since the 17th century, the only Ignatius pilgrimage in Europe has taken place on the Sunday after his name day (31.07.).
