The Ilmenberg is a 787 m high mountain in the Lange Rhön and is best known for its ski lift on the eastern slope. This is located directly at the Thüringer Hütte, but is unfortunately no longer in operation. 

The Thüringer Hütte offers catering and overnight accommodation. The Rhön-Park Hotel, cross-country ski trails and toboggan runs are also in the immediate vicinity. 

It is located on the premium hiking trail Extra tour "Hochrhöntour.
