Have you ever heard of the Hohe Schrecke?
This forested mountain range between the Thuringian Basin and the Unstrut Valley is full of secrets. Hardly used for forestry for decades, large areas here have been able to develop into forest wilderness. Its gnarled giant trees provide a habitat for rare animal species.
The Hohe Schrecke information center invites young and old explorers to discover the special features of this area. It is located on the northern edge of the forest and is in the admission-free area of the Wiehe model railroad.
